  1. MikeL2 View File Reuploading MikeL2 and MikeL2-fix together since neither was on here before... This was my "main" level set since 2002, although now I kind of consider MikeL3 to be my main one since it cuts out the weaker levels from MikeL2. MikeL2-fix is a completely TW Lynx-compatible version of the set which I started in 2006 ("regular" MikeL2 has 84 Lynx-incompatible levels that are modified to be Lynx-compatible in MikeL2-fix).The reason this set was not given the more sensible name "MikeL2-Lynx" is that at the time I had already put together a set with this name that was just MikeL2 with the Lynx-incompatible levels deleted, and I didn't want them to have the same name...despite the fact that this other one was never actually released... 200 levels / Updated Jan 22, 2017 Submitter pillowpc2001 Submitted 05/01/2019 Category CC1 Levelsets

  3. Well, I never would have thought I'd ever be making this post, but here it is...I have made the difficult decision to begin the process of shutting down my website. Over the last few years I had already begun to explain my diminished presence in the CC world as due to real life, and there were moments here and there where I did manage to carve out time for certain projects (level set page changes, playing through CC2/CCLP1, designing a few new levels). But they were few and far between, and I was always just assuming that "down the road" things would slow down and I would get into a routine where I could make "real life" and "CC life" coexist. But here we are, a few years later, and I find myself with a full-time job, a wife, a house to take care of, changing interests and priorities, and it is just seeming less and less likely that I can make that happen. Even when I do find myself with some CC time, I feel oddly divided. On the one hand, I feel like it is never enough - I get a chunk of time to solve two CCLP4 levels and wish I had more time to better optimize my scores or to continue playing. On the other hand, after playing I see household chores piling up that I should have been taking care of, and feel guilty that I even took the time that I did to play CC. Either way I look at it results in an unsatisfying feeling. I'm not at all saying it's not fun anymore - it is - and this is not a goodbye post. However, I might be less active than before and will not be able to keep on maintaining my site any longer. I am open to a bankruptcy buyout if anyone would like to keep certain aspects of my site going, especially: - the Tile World 2 homepage - the Chip's Challenge Creator homepage - the level set pages and if someone really desires: - the AVI archives - MikeL2/3/4 scoreboards - the page with the latest 64-bit CC options - my listings of links Whoever would like to take over hosting any of these pages, I will send them (and the database) to you to officially become "yours". (For Chip's Controls I plan on re-uploading the latest version here with all the HTML pages included.) Hope everyone is doing well - thanks for reading, and now back to your regularly scheduled Chipping. Mike Lask

  5. I haven't played anything in CC2 other than the official set - I wish I had more time to spend on it, and as such I barely squeaked through it and probably forget what half the new tiles do . So it has been easier for me to play CC1 when I do get playing time...
  6. I can confirm that the latest update fixes the score glitches from before. I haven't really gotten to play too much though this way - anyone notice any gameplay glitches?
  7. Wow it works... This is awesome! I wonder how long this has been around... I had search for something like this multiple times I thought a while ago, so I wonder if this is relatively new... thanks Andrew! I will for sure have to add this to my list of ways to play CC on 64-bit machines, definitely near the top of the list. edit - OK I found a few quirks so far... the High Scores window only shows you level 1, and it doesn't remember which level you left off at.
  8. Wow, I need to check this out. Maybe I can sell my old laptop after all.
  9. I'm alive... #31 (Big Boulder Alley): 385 #32 (Blended Brussels Sprouts): 306 Total 347,420
  10. OK I'm finally getting around to updating the CC2 solvability list layout... It appears to be working now, although adding levels beyond the "total" number doesn't work yet, and now deleting those extra levels beyond the total seems to have broken for CC1 too... Hopefully will all be running smoothly soon...or in another month. Edit - if I'm understanding my code correctly, apparently deleting "extra" levels never did work on CC1 either... I just have to do it manually in the database for now I guess... I did tweak and fix some other issues.
  11. Yeah at this point the only way to delete a set is actually to take it out of the database, so I only leave that to me I'll delete it. Thanks to everyone who has been updating the information! I noticed as I was looking at the pages, there appears to be some strange bug where no matter who edits a set, it is often showing me as the one to last modify it... I'll have to look into that. edit - Apparently all new sets were getting saved with me as the editor... This has been fixed now for future new sets, but the other ones were still saved incorrectly.
  12. Another bump to this topic... I have now added the CC2 level set section to my site. It is horribly out of date, so I would appreciate any and all help in getting it up to date. http://pillowpc2001.net/levels/index.php?set=2 I eventually plan on correcting the solvability tables...right now they still look like the CC1 table and show/save a column for MS and Lynx. I have a note to ignore this for now and just use the MS column for submitting solvability, but hopefully this will be fixed soon.
  13. Ah OK that makes sense...I did realize the closer I looked that it was only a few designers' sets that were updated, not all of them. Thanks!
  14. Anyone know why almost every level set in the CC1 download section now says it was last updated either this past Sunday or Monday?
  15. As evidenced by my level output in the last few years, I definitely feel like my creativity has been dropping as I get older...although I think it is a combination of two things, which others already mentioned - 1) lack of time/real life getting in the way, and 2) being a perfectionist - lately I don't even want to start sitting down to design a level unless I can envision exactly how I want it to turn out...which typically results in me never sitting down to design a level. But then even these I still don't always end up completely satisfied with, so I probably need to just sit down and open up an editor one of these days and see what I come up with.
