  1. Since the number of Chipsters still playing primarily on MSCC can probably be counted on one hand , leaving two thirds of Chip's Controls' tools obsolete, I have decided to release standalone versions of the two still-relevant tools, the CCX file editor and DacGen. They can each be downloaded individually at my site, or in one setup file (pretty much only required if your computer doesn't have the necessary runtime files). http://www.pillowpc2001.net/controls/download.htm
  2. CCLP1 Blobs Edition

    Version v. blobs

Because CC1 Blobs was SO much fun (which it was, outside a few levels), and because CCLP1 exists and I was wondering how a couple levels would fare if their monsters were replaced with blobs, and because I was bored one day, I made this between 256 Lynx attempts on The Last Starfighter. Note: I was REALLY bored, because I made a CCX file to go with it, complete with a short, silly little storyline that goes absolutely nowhere. Blobs. Blobs, everywhere. Most levels just had monsters replaced with blobs/blobs added, though about a dozen required larger changes to keep functional despite the changes. I tried to make these as non-intrusive as possible. Some levels had their time limit removed, a few untimed levels had one added. Some levels where the blobs would all die/be a non-factor in solving had a shortcut added (ie: fireboots in Quincunx and Amphibia, skates in Whirlpool). Additionally, some key colors were changed, as well as a few other minor tweaks in an effort to make every level solvable in Lynx. Naturally, I haven't tested this, but they should be. Blobs blobs blobs blobs blobs blobs. Nothing was done about busts introduces by the addition of blobs. This does make a joke of levels like Funfair, but nothing was done about busts like this in CC1Blobs (Monster Lab, Memory, Perfect Match, Firetrap and All Full are affected from full bust to minor bust). In the interest of redesigning as few levels as possible, these were left alone. Finally, Colors for Extreme and Chip Alone outright did not work without sizable changes to the method of solving, due to relying on a glider and 2 fireballs, respectively. I kept a puzzle aspect intact, though the solution follows some of the same steps it is ultimately different-I felt this was the best compromise to make in the interest of making a solvable level. 3. Did you ever wish to take a look at some of the old entries to the Create Competitions, or experiment for yourself how you might have fared in an old Time Trial? Well, now you can: http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/305-cc-zone-competition-goodie-bag/ This zip-file contains three sets, totaling over 120 competition levels by 28 different creators over 48 different competitions. How can you call yourself a Chipster and not get a copy? When you need a break from CCLP1 voting, look no further than this The first set collects the create levels from 2008 to 2011. These are kept as close to the original submissions as possible (with one exception). The second file contains all the create levels from 2012. Some of these have been updated, since the original submissions are mostly still available elsewhere. The third set is an updated CCZoneTT.dat which was originally compiled by Tom P but now with his permission I'm keeping it up to date with all the latest Time Trial levels. Each set comes with a ccx file that has information on the competitions themselves. Hopefully these will be informative and fun. The one for the Time Trials is not yet quite as extensive as the ones for the create sets, but I didn't want that to slow the release and will get back to updating that later. I hope to correct any mistakes in the other files as well, so do tell me if you spot anything amiss. If you are a designer of one of the levels, you can also send in comments that might be added to the ccx-file, or ask for changes, such as being referenced by a different name or your full name. The idea for this "Goodie Bag" is not to just be a one time release, but something that grows and improves with time. The files could be (and probably will be) available individually as well, but together they make form a whole that clings together thematically and conveniently. Hope you enjoy! Feel free to share your reactions and suggestions here! -Miika
  4. Version second release

    213 downloads

It is finally here! Inside this download you will find all the entries to the Create Competitions for the first four years from when CC Zone was created, as well as all the Time Trial levels to date. These are split into three sets that each come with a ccx file summarizing some of the info related to the competitions. A total of 28 people made these 123 unique competition levels that were part of 48 competitions. That's quite a bit Update: now added the next two years worth of competition levels too! I didn't do the exact calculations like above, but there are 74 new Create levels and about 20 new Time Trial levels as well. So the sets you are getting (along with their accompanying ccx and dac files) are: CCZcreate2008-2011.dat CCZcreate2012.dat CCZcreate2013-2014.dat CCZoneTT.dat Thanks to all the people who created these levels! They are an important part of CC-history. This compilation will be updated when needed. Like if you want to comment on one of your designs included in this release, it can be added into the ccx file. You can also expect us to add more files to the collection once there is enough material. All feedback is appreciated. Enjoy!
  5. Version with ccx

Here are the levels created for the March 2013 Create Competition! The levels included and their designers are: Level 1 - Michael Ancient Glider Temple - Flareon350 Tricks & Traps - CraigV Shemozzle - jblewis In or Out - jblewis The Beach - Minus3K2 Flip-Side-Up - random 8 That Ticking Noise - rockdet 200m Free Style - rockdet Protect Me as I Protect You - BlazingApollo Bricks - random 8 Impedence - random 8 Bringing Up the Rear - BigOto2 This is basically the order I received the submissions. I'm uploading two files, one is just the set with the levels, and the other is a zip-file that contains a ccx-file where some of the designers explain things about their levels. The zip-file contains the ccl- and ccx-files in the data folder, and two dac-files in the sets folder. We will hold a vote for which levels everyone believes deserves the title of the best for this month. Details and instructions for how you can be part of that will be found in a new thread in the competitions subforum. Enjoy! -Miika

  7. CCX Files

I was just wondering. Has anyone tried changing the default CCX file of CCLP3 for their own levelsets? I've kind of had some luck getting it to work for TomP4 but it's a bit tough trying to make sure none of the code messes up. It's pretty good and I think there should be a program to make CCX files much easier.
