Garbled digits after changing MSCC digit colors in CCHack

I want to change the digit colors on my MSCC but for some reason the digits appear garbled. I set the images to the right proportions and the 200.bmp I used is under 16 colors!

That broken looking 4 is supposed to be a blank.

Level is supposed to show "17"

Chips Left is supposed to show "3"

 

For my digit mod, the digits are supposed to be blue for normal gameplay and turn white when there's 15 seconds remaining or in B&W mode.

(the screenshot was back in September before I switched my set to CCLP1)

Not exactly on topic but, I know that there is a way to changing the digit colors in the original MSCC. I've seen Josh's LP of BHLS1 and Rock Alpha and the digits were blue. Not top much of a concern I'm just wondering.
