Annoying things about Windows

Recommended Posts

Another hilarious one is when an individual tab crashes in Chrome and "He's dead, Jim!" pops up. Too bad the whole thing freezes more often than that, and we all know how much I hate it when things simply freeze up.

I like the Firefox "Well, this is embarrassing" message.

This should be a death message in Tile World 2. :P Or is it already?

LOL

I'm surprised no one has mentioned StickyKeys when you press the Shift key 5+ times. It annoys me like no other.

As for the Windows 8 preview... <_<

(Y) My reaction exactly. Hooray for condescending messages...

You can disable that, you know. :P

This. Particularly when it comes to games (Klick and Play, anyone) that prominently feature the Shift key.

When it comes up there should be a checkbox to turn it off. Also, it's in Control Panel somewhere (under Accessibility or something)

I agree with you. You shouldn't have to work around anything. However, the MS mantra is "We know what is better for you than you do."

How about the fact that Windows update just did an update to .NET, made me reboot, and then came up and said "Hey! You need an update to .NET!"

C'MON!

Let's see, here's a list of every program I know that FORCES restarting on you:

- Windows (duh)

- Apple auto-update

- Norton

- Adobe

- Java

- 729 programs after initial installation

I'm sure I've missed a ton.

Only certain programs updated through the Apple software update actually require a restart.

...few software programs do either. When I was a kid and impatient to play a new game, I never restarted the computer after installation. I rarely had problems.
