Worst movie you've ever seen?

Recommended Posts

So guys, everyone has their own opinions, so what is the worst movie you have ever seen? One of the worst I saw this year was 2012, that disaster movie where the world ends in 2012 and it has the most ridiculous action scenes ever. It even had a live Giraffe hanging out of a helicopter in freezing temperatures! Yeah, that's how you save an animal species, indeed! Your thoughts?

IIRC, I totally fell asleep on "Behind the Red Door". Maybe I should watch it again today to have a more critical point of view about it though.

Definitely Rockdet's CCLP3 LP, and Josh's too.

Just kidding.

OK, seriously now, I don't really remember the bad/boring ones, but I know I saw an awful really girlish theater play either in 2011 or 2010 which was so bad I have to mention it here.

I'd have to say Hot Fuzz. An R Rated movie, with more blood than Super Meat Boy, Half Life I and II all combined, too much swearing, and the fact that it's a horror movie.

I just checked... it has a 7.9 on IMDb. Uh, that's pretty good :P

Oh yeah I know it's such a bad movie lol :P

That doesn't change the fact that it's R rated, and the blood and swearing levels are over the top...

Question is, is it worse than my rant or Rock's NoBS rant? Also, that's why I don't like shooting games.

Yes, it's worse than that rant. That one only had a few swears, but the movie had too many.

I don't like shooting games for that too.

There's a 1998 made-for-TV horror movie called "The Fury Within" that I caught on a cable channel. Starring Ally Sheedy and Jude Law, the film tells a typical poltergeist-related story involving...a phantom dog.

The Simon Pegg movie? That's not a horror movie, it's a black comedy. Have you seen the ending?

I tried to watch Sunshine and had to quit half way through. You know, the premise was a rehashed "the-world-is-ending-so-let's-go-put-nukes-in-the-sun-to-reignite-it" and I couldn't take anymore after the scene where they jumped from one spaceship to another, through the void nothingness of space, with nothing but a layer of insulation wrapped around them.

Sounds worse than Armageddon. :P

I don't know if I can narrow it down to just one, so I'll mention a few...

- 2001: A Space Travesty. Especially disappointing since I'm a Leslie Nielsen fan...

- Fred Claus. Only scene I remember liking was the support group for people with famous siblings...

- Old Dogs. Kind of surprised about this one, since my family and I have liked other movies from some of the people involved with this one (RV and Wild Hogs are two of our favorite movies).

- I Love You Man. This one seemed to be popular, guess I'm the only one that didn't like it...

If you didn't notice, I pretty much stick to comedy movies. :)

Twister, because I couldn't get over all the factual errors the slaugher and hanging out to dry of storm facts by the movie.

I also did not like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but it was slightly entertaining and I didn't stop watching it, so not the worst movie ever.

I think that's the one, and I consider it a comedy horror movie. I never saw the full ending though, only halfway through the final fight scene.

This. I mean, there are plenty of bad movies out there, but when you have a potentially great premise and then screw it up like this...well, it's even worse.

A few days ago I attended a screening of "Once Upon A Time In India: Laagan."

If movies that are pure cliches annoy you, you may very well consider this one to be a serious candidate for "Worst film ever." It's the kind of film where you root for the "bad" guys to win, just so that the ending won't be the painfully predictable turd you know it's going to turn out to be.

I would have to say Dragon Wars (released in 2007). The film was pretty much one gigantic letdown, starting with the fact that there were no dragons (only two giant snakes) until the very last MINUTE of the film and there was only one battle involving a dragon (not "wars"). Also, they somewhat conspicuously recycled some shots of stuff blowing up during the big city-in-peril scene. The film was so bad that it made average/mediocre films I saw around the same time (like The Seeker) seem like masterpieces by comparison. I have yet to see a movie for which i can't say, "Well, at least it wasn't as bad as Dragon Wars!"

Zack and Miri make a porno. (A comedy, not an adult movie.)

Well, the title doesn't exactly suggest a movie that I would find entertaining, but it was even worse than I expected.

Oh man, that reminds me of a really bad movie about making a porno -- I think it was called Sex is Comedy or something, and it was in French.

^Yeah, I saw that. I don't think it was about making a porno per se; if I remember correctly, it was about the making of an artsy, "erotic" film, and the two leads, who had to film very intimate scenes, absolutely despised each other.

Good premise for a film, at least, imo.

I honestly don't remember what I thought of it. All I know is that, just as I thought then, I think it's a plot idea ripe with interesting characters and confrontations. Perhaps it'd work better as a novel or a short story, where you wouldn't necessarily have to address the [blurred] line between the explicit scenes in the fictitious film and those in the "real" film. Then again, it may well be that dividing line that could give the film its power...

I'm officially going to add Mission: Impossible II to my list, though it is more in the "so bad it's good" category.

That movie was so ridiculous, but like you said it was a fun bad movie. The newest Mission Impossible was really good though. (Y)

Totally agree. The disconnect between the two - or especially the second and third - couldn't be more stark.
