jblewis 310 Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Without going terribly overboard on self-promotion, what levels didn't make it into CCLP1 - or were created after the submission deadline - that you would've enjoyed seeing in the set? A few of the ones I loved from the submission pool that didn't do as well as other, similar levels that were inducted or just performed poorly in general were: - Lesson the 1st by Henry Potts - Collection by Daniel Bouwmeester - Pinball by Andrew Menzies - Toggle-O-Tron by Henry Potts - Frozen Pipelines by Josh Lee - PushMaze by Rosabellis - Infiltrated by Eric Schmidt - When Push Comes to Shove by J.B. Lewis - Cloverleaf by Henry Potts - Monster Swapper by Andrew Menzies - Water Bottle by Markus O. - Cell Swapper by Markus O. - Puzzle Box by Henry Potts - Anaconda by Henry Potts - The Key Issue by Ida R. Some levels I loved that were either created after the submission period ended or were not submitted for CCLP1, in no particular order. I still have yet to play a lot of recent sets, so this isn't particularly representative of anything other than what I've played: - Pneumatic Diversity Vents by Andrew Menzies - Nine Men's Morris by Joshua Bone - Wildlands by Josh Lee- Hopscotch by Alice Voith - Condo by Joshua Bone - Tease by Scott Feeney - Shambles by J.B. Lewis - Union by Josh Lee - Force Rapids by David Pinkston - Newbie Zone by “BlazingApollo” - Pop-Up Locks by Josh Lee - Maze of My Own Design by Tyrethali Ansrath - Bodyguards by Andrew Menzies - Ponder by “lookatthis” - Frozen Over by Josh Lee

quiznos00 517 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 Some of these have already been said, some haven't: Nail Flipping by Trevor Hedges Cyprus by Tyler Sontag Loop Isle by J.B. Lewis Statue of Teeth by Archie Pusaka They're Not Called Blocks for Nothing by Eric Schmidt Water Bottle by Markus O. The Inner Plague by Rock Genereux Do the Trick (not sure by who...it was in one of the early voting packs. Anyone able to help me out here?) Duplex by Josh Lee I would've gladly given up Square Dancing, Corral, and Occupied to see this level make it in. Do The Trick is by Ida R. And we had plenty of more difficult levels to choose from, which is why Monster Swapper didn't make it in and the levels you listed (which were significantly easier and gave the set more variety) did. geodave 97 Report post Posted July 17, 2014 A Puzzle of course, but also Cyprus. I also thought Waterwings met the goal of a beginner set. Excommunicated and Xenocide were serious contenders for me as well.

jblewis 310 Report post Posted August 2, 2014 Technically, Easier Than It Looks replaced it as a #131 candidate (higher-ranked), and Spumoni replaced it as a difficult boot collecting/stealing level (also higher-ranked).
Bowman 24 Report post Posted March 6, 2015 Off the top of my head, Glint and Blockage (with a much longer time limit) by Daniel B., Skydiver's Maze by J.B., Think Outside the Block by ajmiam, Milliardaire (with a much longer time limit) by Rock (I think), if it looks like a maze... by pieguy, and Around the Block by Syzygy, just because the first time I played that level it felt so much like CC1 and I thought it would've fit nicely in the set. As for levels that weren't submitted for CCLP1, I used to think it would be cool if Before the Rainstorm from JL1 were in the set as a prequel, but maybe it was a good thing it wasn't submitted. M11k4 223 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 Thanks Josh! I guessed someone could compile such a list quicker than myself because I am not yet familiar enough with all the levels I'm glad these favorites got a second chance.
Ihavenoname248 211 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 Well, here's my short list of levels I'd have liked to see in the final set that didn't make it (primarily mine, admittedly, but that's what I'm most familiar with!) Alcknalkcxa - This is the one I'm most bummed about. No one else seems to like this one! Cluster Two - As far as upper difficulty puzzles go, this would be right at home in a veteran pack... or late CCLP4. That ship sailed though Decrepit Crypt - Had a good run, but ran afoul of other fire themed campaign levels such as Fire is My Enemy doing much better. Internally Inconsistent - Wasn't deemed interesting enough for a pure sokoban level. I kind of agree, but at the same time I like how small variations in design can make a larger change in solving. Puzzle Solver on a Tight Budget - Just wasn't picked as a time crunch level with Shemozzle and Air Bubble in play. Oh well. Ragged Mountain - In hindsight, I should have pushed for this over Life is Not a Puzzle harder. (or Beautiful Struggle, which it plays more similarly to). Well, at least it's a lock for the next community pack, basically Wastelands of Tabora - Pushed out by a combo of easier dirt themed levels in One Who Raids Tombs and Secret Underground Society, but honestly probably would have been a better late-game pick than the two levels mentioned under Ragged Mountain. Josh's list: Shuffling - got pushed over.

Ihavenoname248 211 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 1 Speckles of Silver- Josh Lee 10 Skydiver's Maze- JB Lewis 12 Vertiginous Landscape- Josh Lee 18 What's Wrong with This Puzzle- Andrew Menzies 28 Roy G. Biv- Andrew Menzies 44 Compactor Reactor- Josh Lee Here's some more stuff I forgot about that I'd have liked to see. Ultimately, Poly-gone was preferred to Speckles of Silver (though I actually had both and not Air Bubble in my original picks, due to Shemozzle+Puzzle Solver as time crunch). Skydiver's Maze didn't do as well as anticipated, and Vertiginous Landscape was another Josh campaign level and another force floor level. What's wrong with me for forgetting What's Wrong with This Puzzle, which is still my favorite sokoban level ever- but unfortunately, it did really poorly in voting. Roy G. Biv would have been better suited for CCLP1 I think, but could have fit in CCLP4. The main concern was tileset incompatibility, where the gimmick fails depending on what people are playing with. I don't agree with it, but hey- it's still a great level! Compactor Reactor and Cold Fusion Reactor battled. My inferior level won somehow. It was funny how Josh and I both were supporting the other persons' level here Security gates by Markus O Gravelways by Markus O Tank you very much by Eddy Limb Blue ridge corporate center by Eddy Limb The incredibly safe maze by Andrew Menzies All of these were bounced around at some point, too! Security Gates in particular I really wished made it in as it's a puzzle itemswapper that subverts so may expectations about how it's going to play out. Gravelways has some clever puzzles and would have made a strong 147 IMO, though Gimmick Isle and even Lounge Act had much better support. Tank you Very Much was a potential tank level, but nobody really felt strongly about it. Blue Ridge Corporate Center was similar for gliders and would have been a bold route for James to annihilate because it has glider cloners, and The Incredibly Safe Maze was the same for invisible walls, but Empty Rooms did better. Collateral Damage, Cluttered Crosswalks and Forced Circuit were all close, but there were similar enough levels that they just didn't fit this time around.
